Why it matters

Every club has the same problem

The problem

Golfers learn the rules from whoever they play with. Nobody can see who knows what.

The risk

It could affect the integrity of your competitions.

The answer

HoleMarked helps members build their rules knowledge and good etiquette, supporting the standards your club expects.

How it works

Four steps. Eighteen holes.

Members play 18 holes in two nines, on any phone, in about 20 minutes. It suits new members and long standing members alike.

  1. Hole 1
    1

    Play a hole

    One real situation, four options.

  2. Hole 2
    2

    Par or bogey

Correct is a par. Wrong is a bogey, with the reason and the rule.

  3. Hole 3
    3

    Take a mulligan

Three per nine for a fresh question.

  4. Hole 4
    4

    Clear the card

Get every hole right on both nines, then hole 18: your club's own rules.

Every question has a 60 second ring, so it stays a game and answers cannot be looked up. Members can warm up first: practice rounds never count and nobody sees them. Miss a nine and you can replay it with fresh questions after an hour.

For the committee

Support your club’s standards

Help members build the knowledge and confidence to play their part in maintaining club standards.

  • You choose who plays. New members only, or the whole club. Your committee decides.
  • Monitor progress. A Monday digest and a short exceptions list show who has cleared and who needs a nudge.
  • No installs. Members open one link with no password, and your club name and crest lead the way.
  • White label. Your name, your crest, your local golf rules. Buddy rounds for new members are optional and never hold up clearing.
Set it up yourself

Four steps to your own club app

  1. 1Register interest and get your club link.
  2. 2Add your club name, crest and colours.
